ESCWA is organizing a high-level technical workshop on strategic planning for sustainable road transport in Kuwait to meet requests for technical support to Kuwait in strategic planning for multi-modal transport. The workshop will be held on 17, 18, 25 and 26 November 2020 remotely, using electronic communication means.

The workshop aims to introduce participants to the systems approach as a conceptual framework for dealing with complex phenomena, such as transportation. It also aims to provide them with knowledge, methods and tools used in transport planning, to familiarize them with the advantages of Kuwait's accession to regional and international conventions in transport. The workshop finally aims to introduce them to how to include transport indicators when formulating plans Sustainable development, taking into account the Sustainable Development Goals.
