Technological innovations and today’s frontier technologies cause lasting change to our lives, particularly in terms of economic and social development.  While convinced of its numerous benefits, the Arab region shares global concerns regarding the harmful effects of these technologies, notably on unemployment and inequality.  Adequate policies and regulation can ensure that these technologies are optimally aligned with desired development outcomes, chiefly the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The meeting aims to engage stakeholders in exploring the means of accelerating the benefits of frontier technologies and innovation in local and regional development, while limiting the negative impact of these technologies .

The meeting will revisit the needs and special priorities of the Arab region, considering solutions enabled by frontier technologies. Proceedings will include presentations of selected experiences, initiatives and practical examples from across the region.
