The expert group meeting aimed to present the findings of the revised Arab Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) and the different sensitivity analysis scenarios in an attempt to enhance inter-country and temporal comparisons and provide more accurate poverty assessment and monitoring in the region.

The results of the discussions are expected to feed into the next Arab Multidimensional Poverty Report and the future work of ESCWA, noting that the accomplishments on these objectives can potentially lead the region in progressing toward achieving many of the SDGs and targets, particularly those relating to poverty and inequality reduction.
