Consultative Workshop with Civil Society Organizations on Progress Made in the Implementation of Beijing +25

The ESCWA Centre for Women, in partnership with the League of Arab States (LAS), the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN-Women), and the Arab Women Organization (AWO) organized a consultative workshop with civil society organizations in the Arab Region on progress made in the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action after 25 years.
This workshop, which took place on 16 and 17 April 2019 at the United Nations House in Beirut - Lebanon, aimed to present and discuss progress achieved in the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action throughout the past five years from the perspective of Arab civil society organizations, and to discuss on-going preparations of national-level reviews and shadow reports of civil society organizations if any, and to identify follow-up steps and mechanisms at both the national and regional levels to coordinate efforts and recommendations that would accelerate the implementation of Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action in the Arab region.
