UNSD and ESCWA organized a joint virtual workshop on the Use of the Statistical Data and Metadata Exchange (SDMX) Standard for SDG Data Reporting.
 
The Workshop brought together statisticians and IT specialists from various national statistical offices in the Arab region. The event provided hands-on training on data modeling using the SDMX standard and use of SDMX for SDG data and metadata exchange within countries and between national offices and international organizations. The participants shared national experiences and plans for the implementation of automated data and metadata exchange for statistical indicators with a focus on the SDGs.
 
The Workshop consisted of 3 webinars spread over two weeks using the MS Teams. The webinars featured presentations, demonstrations, and Q&A sessions. The participants completed hands-on exercises between the webinars, with UNSD and ESCWA providing assistance as necessary.
