The Agreement on Arab Economic Unity was signed on 3 June 1957 and came into force on 30 April 1964. The original signatory States were Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libyan Arab Jamahirija, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syrian Arab Republic, Tunisia, United Arab Republic, and the Arab Republic of Yemen. Maur itania, Palestine and Somalia subsequently also became signatories to the Agreement.
