Abu Dhabi Declaration on Environment and Energy

Title English:
Abu Dhabi Declaration on Environment and Energy
Definition English:
The declaration called for co-ordination with other developing countries to reject the imposition of commitment on them to reduce their green house emissions. It also urged the industrialised countries to restructure the oil tax system and to eliminate all forms of support given to coal and nuclear energy. The declaration also reaffirmed the rights of the countries in the region, adversely affected by the nuclear programmes of some other countries in the region, to protect their citizens and environment from any expected danger. It also reaffirmed the rights of those countries to put in place environmental strategies to protect their natural resources and to judiciously tap them sustainably.
