11 December 2014	UN-ESCWA Committee on Water Resources Convenes Eighth Session	In the presence of representatives of member countries, international, regional and civil organizations, as well as experts concerned with water resources, UN-ESCWA opened today the eighth session of its Committee on Water Resources, which convenes until Friday 19 December 2008. AlDafa Addressing the meeting, Executive Secretary Bader Omar AlDafa said in his opening statement “the issue of water resources stands among crucial ones in the region. It is one of the priorities of UN-ESCWA work.
11 December 2014	Arab Business Community and the WTO Agreements	UN-ESCWA opened on 2 July the "Third Forum on Arab Business Community and the WTO Agreements", in Adnan Kassar Edifice for Arab Economy, Beirut. The event is held in collaboration with the General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture for Arab Countries, and the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

26 February 2016	Short Term Statistics in Western Asia	ESCWA organized an Expert Group Meeting on Short Term Statistics from 16 to18 February, 2016 in Amman, Jordan. The meeting was held in the context of the project “Strengthening the Statistical Capacity of ESCWA Member Countries in Producing and Disseminating Short-term Economic Indicators for Sustainable Growth,” in coordination with the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD).
5 December 2014	Regional Workshop on Pro-poor Urban Development Strategies in the Arab Region	In the context of enhancing joint cooperation in addressing the challenges of sustainable development, in particular those resulting from rapid urbanization and the resulting high rates of urban poverty in many countries, ESCWA, in cooperation with the Arab Towns Organization (ATO), organized a regional workshop on Pro-poor urban development strategies in the Arab region on 15 May 2013 in Doha, Qatar.
