Multi-stakeholder Endorsement for the Establishment of the Arab IGF Process |
Efforts of ESCWA and the League of Arab States (LAS) resulted last week in a consensus to establish the Arab Internet Governance Forum (IGF), with the collaboration of multi-stakeholders in IGF process and the Internet Governance activities for the region. The consensus of the Arab IGF was the outcome of the "Conference and Public Consultations to Establish the Arab Internet Governance Forum (IGF)" which was held from 31 January to 1 February 2012, in Beirut at the Habtoor Grand Hotel. |

First Dialogue Session: Economic Pillar |
The Libyan Economic and Social Dialogue project seeks to provide a platform for dialogue for Libyans to discuss, formulate, evaluate and present a future social and economic vision that will help in achieving stability and sustainable development in Libya. The platform draws on its discussions on strong evidence-based research prepared by Libyan experts who specialize in the project within the scope of the first intervention from the first phase of the project. The first consultation session of the Libyan National Dialogue process aims to be a starting point for a fruitful and constructive dialogue that results in proposed plans for rational policies that enhance the possibility of achieving peace, preventing relapse, building state institutions and achieving balanced sustainable development. It will also pay attention to the recommendations and foundational strategies for the future vision of a united and dear Libya, in the context of providing a platform and platform for dialogue for Libyans from all walks of life and from all groups in order to prepare the future of the economic, social and institutional vision and discuss and formulate its standards and priorities in a way that contributes to achieving stability and economic and social development in a comprehensive and holistic sense.
