Tunisia Hosts Regional Commission's Ministerial Council to Boost Social Justice in the Region |

Development is a human right that everyone should benefit from, especially the most marginalized and vulnerable groups in the Arab region. This includes people living under occupation and conflict, refugees, internally displaced people, and residents of rural and poor areas. Such were the recommendations of the “Preparatory Meeting for the 3rd Arab Forum on Sustainable Development (AFSD-3) and the 2nd United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-2),” hosted by the United Nations House in Beirut on 14 April 2016. |

ESCWA Releases 2012 Annual Report |
Under the overall message of “Go Forward”, ESCWA has launched its annual report for the year 2012, in Arabic and English. The report reviews a year of achievements for the regional commission against the backdrop of continued transitions and socio-economic challenges in the Arab region. It focuses on the seven key substantive areas of the ESCWA mandate: sustainable development, social development, economic development, information and communications technology, statistics, advancement of women, and conflict mitigation and development. |
