Beirut-New York, 21 January 2019 (Communication and Information Unit)--The global economy will continue to grow at a steady pace of around 3 per cent in 2019 and 2020 amid signs that global growth has peaked. However, a worrisome combination of development challenges could further undermine growth, according to the United Nations World Economic Situation and Prospects (WESP) 2019, which was launched today.



Within the framework of the “Regional Initiative for Promoting Small-Scale Renewable Energy Applications in Rural Areas of the Arab Region (REGEND)” Project, the UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), in partnership with the General Commission for Regional Development (CGDR) and the National Agency for Energy Conservation (ANME) in Tunisia, is organizing a capacity-building workshop on “Marketing techniques and mechanisms of rural women's products”.
 
This workshop aims to build the knowledge, scientific and technical capacities of Rural Women in the region of Chorbane, Governorate of Mahdia, Republic of Tunisia – in particular, those belonging to "Al-Amal" Agricultural Development Group for Rural Women – on techniques and mechanisms for marketing local products and how to benefit from them to develop and sustain Rural Women’s incomes, as well as to create a participatory dynamic to facilitate the marketing of Rural Women's products, and to provide them with the necessary knowledge on marketing laws and practical skills regarding the use of modern techniques and mechanisms for marketing, through a simplified scientific and distinctive approach integrating lectures, exercises, and practical training.
