Beirut and Paris, 9 October 2020 – The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) have launched the ICC-ESCWA Centre of Entrepreneurship (CoE) to inspire entrepreneurial innovation and improve the business environment for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the Arab region.
 

United Nations Under-Secretary-General and Executive Secretary of UN-ESCWA (Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia), Mr. Bader Aldafa is participating, upon the invitation of the Arab Industrial Development and Mining Organization (AIDMO), in the “Third Arab Industrial Information and Networking Conference”, held from 29 to 31 October 2007, in Damascus, Syrian Arab Republic, under the patronage of Prime Minister Muhammad Naji Al Otri.

From the UN headquarters in Beirut, and in cooperation with Lebanese actress Carmen Lebbos, ESCWA launched on 17 May the “Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020.” The event was held the auspices and in the presence of caretaker Lebanese Minister of Interior Ziad Baroud, and a slew of diplomats and government officials from ESCWA’s 14 member countries.

          Beirut, 24 August 2017 (Communication and Information Unit) -- United Nations Under-Secretary-General and ESCWA Executive Secretary Mohamed Ali Alhakim highlighted Egypt’s key role in the region. He commended the country’s stability and economic and social development achievements, stressing the importance of benefiting from Egypt’s pioneering experiences in many fields, notably in new and renewable energy and combating violence against women.
