As part of the UNDG ITF funded Iraq Networking Academies project, UNESCWA initiated the first training for Iraqi engineers and teachers on networking technologies. The Iraqi delegation received training by CISCO Systems Networking Academy trainers at the Lebanese American University from 21 August until 25 September 2004.
The work of ESCWA on governance and conflict prevention is linked to efforts to help member States to develop transparent, accountable, inclusive and effective public sector institutions and, in so doing, to improve core Government services.
