This note contains strategic proposals for the development of the Digital Arabic Content industry in the Arab region in order to exploit economic and social opportunities. It presents as well proposals for national and regional projects and initiatives to promote the Digital Arabic Content industry and develop the Arab knowledge society.

This document is a report that focuses mainly on the performance of ESCWA member countries in terms of attracting foreign direct investment. It reviews the latest developments in the institutional framework governing the activities of foreign direct investment (FDI) enterprises and aims to provide an overview of the latest large-scale FDI activities in ESCWA member countries.

This session will focus on the areas where different stakeholders should collaborate regionally to promote WSIS and SDGs in the Arab region.

The overall purpose of this paper is to contribute to achieving the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) goal to “foster comprehensive, equitable, integrated and sustainable development”1 in a gender-sensitive manner. Its specific objective is to guide all staff at the professional and general service levels, who are involved in conducting research, on how to ensure that a gender perspective is reflected from conceptualization of research to its final stage.
