11 December 2014	HRH Prince Al Hassan Bin Talal Visits ESCWA Technology Centre	His Royal Highness Prince Al Hassan Bin Talal paid a visit to the Amman-based ESCWA Technology Centre (ETC) on 18 June 2013 . Prince Al Hassan was briefed by ETC’s Executive Director Fouad Mrad on the objectives of the Centre, which looks to strengthen capacities in establishing national and administrative systems; develop, transfer, adapt, implement, and define the appropriate technologies to the region; and improve the legal and trade frameworks of technology transfer. HRH was accompanied during his visit by his daughter HRH Princess Soumaya who presides over ETC’s board of governors.
10 August 2017	Technical Assistance towards the development of a National Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security for UAE	The technical assistance is provided to the General Women's Union in Abu Dhabi, UAE. It aims at discussing the concrete steps towards the drafting of the national plan of action with the Union's staff members together with representatives of the governmental institutions concerned with the Women, Peace and Security Agenda (UNSCR 1325).

20 May 2015	ESCWA Social Development Division Bulletin, Vol.4 Vol. 1: Employment and Education: Repairing the Broken Link	One of the biggest concerns in the Arab economies today is related to youth employment. This bulletin tackles the dysfunctional relationship between the labor market and the broader social and economic policy system as it explains the labor-education mismatch. These issues could be treated through several training programs and educational reforms.
31 December 2013	Population and developement report - Issue No. 6 - Development policy implications of age-structural transitions in Arab countries	Arab countries are currently undergoing profound age-structural transitions which will have significant implications for their development, both in the short and long term. These changes bring with them the potential for large development gains if the right policies are in place. The Population and Development Report VI: Development Policy Implications of Age-Structural Transitions in Arab Countries therefore considers the economic and social policy reforms that Arab countries must undertake to benefit from the time-limited "demographic window of opportunity".

11 December 2014	King of Jordan Meets ESCWA Executive Secretary	King Abdullah II of Jordan met the UN Under-Secretary General and ESCWA Executive Secretary Rima Khalaf and congratulated her on assuming her new position. During the meeting, the Jordanian monarch hailed ESCWA efforts in supporting programs and plans to achieve human, economic and social development in Western Asia, especially in the Arab region, citing areas where cooperation between Jordan and ESCWA could be strengthened and increased.
