Based on results of the national consultations to develop the Roadmap to Estimate the Cost of Violence against Women in Palestine which took place last August 2017, ESCWA, UN-Women and the Palestinian national statistical bureau will hold a technical meeting to validate a survey on costing of violence against women in Palestine. The survey takes into consideration the types of direct and indirect costs identified during the national consultation. The meeting participants, including government and civil society organizations, will validate the survey questions. 

The national training workshop aims to improve technical capabilities in using gender statistics to monitor SDG gender indicators and in disseminating, communicating and using statistics and indicators. The workshop will cover topics such as: integrating a gender perspective into official statistics; presenting, disseminating and communicating gender statistics; and improving gender statistics literacy among data users.



  The United Nations has always recognized the importance of addressing the principles, ideas and potentials of youth in order to achieve society’s goals. Noting the importance of youth to development, the United Nations have decided to analyze the work that the organizations have been undertaking and to map out future directions for youth research. This report contains, on one hand, surveys of existing UN research activities and it identifies, on the other hand, basic elements of a future UN research strategy.
 



This report analyses past trends in domestic energy policy in the Arab region and the capacity of today’s policies and institutions to reverse current unsustainable production and consumption patterns, and meet development and energy security needs. It also contains recommendations for more effective policies and greater regional cooperation on the development of sustainable energy systems.
