Supported by ESCWA, the Lebanese Ministry of Environment and the UN Development Program (UNDP), IPT Energy Centre (IPTEC) launched today the “National Campaign for Air Pollution Reduction in Lebanon through Efficient Use in Land Transportation” . The event was held under the patronage of Lebanese Minister of Environment Nazem Khoury at the Ministry premises. In addition to the minister, speakers included Roula Majdalani, ESCWA Director of Sustainable Development and Productivity Division (SDPD) and IPTEC President Toni Issa. |

Digital Arabic Content Promoting Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Arab Region |
The growing interest in DAC is reflected in the activities and programmes carried out by several Governments of Arab countries, such as programmes for digitizing Arab cultural heritage content implemented by some ministries of culture, and initiatives by education institutions. However, measuring DAC remains a major challenge, given the limited mechanisms and methods to measure internet content, including social media networks, documents, files and various audio and video media. |

RICCAR Vulnerability Assessment Task Force on Sensitivity Indicators Meeting |
Within the framework of the RICCAR, ESCWA and ACSAD organized the RICCAR/ACCWaM Vulnerability Assessment Task Force on Sensitivity Indicators Meeting from 21-21 October 2014 in Beirut at the UN House.
