Regional workshop on Governance of Science Parks and Technological Incubators |
ETC in cooperation with the Arab Organization for Industrial Development and Mining (AIDMO), the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Sudan, the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), the Union of Arab Scientific Research Councils, the African City of Technology and others, will hold a regional workshop on "Governance of Science Parks and Technological Incubators" on 22-24 October 2018 in Khartoum, Sudan. |

Thirty five students from the American University of Beirut (AUB) representing different background and nationalities gathered in the Conference Hall of the United Nations House on Saturday 19 November 2016, and simulated the central decision making process of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), its Ministerial Session, focusing specifically on the theme of the upcoming 29th Session to be held in Doha, Qatar, on 13-15 December, under the title “Implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in the Arab Region”. |

Oil producers on a Roll as Prices Surge Lebanese-Israeli Conflict Undermined Growth Prospects, UN Report says |
Western Asian countries maintained their fourth consecutive year of robust growth as a result of rising oil prices in the first half of 2006. But the surge in oil export revenues will temper in 2007, and growth in the ESCWA region (excluding Egypt) will likely moderate from 5.8 percent in 2006 to 4.9 percent in 2007, according to a new UN report. |

Survey of Economic and Social Developments in the Arab Region 2016-2017 |
This report focuses on the analysis of the most recent socio-economic developments to meet two objectives. The first one aims at demonstrating the analytical observation of routinely monitored economic and social variables of the Arab region. The second area of focus aims at an in-depth analysis on the regional impacts of ongoing fiscal reforms. In particular, an analysis of the implementation of a value-added tax in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and the major fiscal reforms in Tunisia and Egypt are undertaken. |
