Training Workshop responding to Goal 5 of the sustainable development agenda in the Syrian Arabic Republic |
The workshop aims at training high officials from the Syrian Commission for Family Affairs on a number of concepts related to the sustainable development agenda focusing on goals and scopes related to women and gender issues. The workshop ims at selecting appropriate approaches and methodologies towards improving the implementation of the SDG's agenda, through a roadmap that highlights the role of the Syrian Commission for Family Affairs. It also aims to build the capacity of staff of the Commission to improve responsiveness. |

The sectoral statistics team participated at the UN-ECE Ad Hoc Group Meeting on Supply of Fossil Fuels, Geneva, 10-11 November 2004, organized by the Sustainable Energy Section of the Industrial Restructuring, Energy and Enterprise Development Division at ECE. The participation was a follow-up on the recommendations on UNFC Classification of energy reserves/resources that was held in Beirut in collaboration with OPEC, UNSD and ECE in Beirut, 1 June 2004. |

Women and Radicalization in the Arab Region |
The ESCWA Centre for Women in partnership with the Asfari Institute for Civil Society and Citizenship at the American University in Beirut (AUB) is organizing a discussion panel on “Women and Radicalization in the Arab Region” as part of its Gender Discussion Series. The Discussion Panel, which will take place on 15 February 2019 at AUB, will discuss the issue of women between victimhood and agency of violent extremism while referring to some countries’ experiences in radicalization and deradicalization from the region. |

Within the framework of the RICCAR, ESCWA and ACSAD organized the RICCAR/ACCWaM Vulnerability Assessment Task Force on Sensitivity Indicators Meeting from 21-21 October 2014 in Beirut at the UN House.
