Amman Hosts Three Regional UN-ESCWA Meetings |
The Jordanian capital, Amman, is set to host three regional UN-ESCWA meetings between 18 and 21 December 2006. They are: “Seminar on Follow-Up of Activities of the Regional Mechanism on the Development of Energy Uses for Sustainable Development”, “Regional Workshop on Energy Efficiency Labeling”, and “Regional Workshop on Clean Development Mechanism: Project Document Preparation in UN-ESCWA Member Countries”. |

Beirut, 25 January 2019 (Communication and Information Unit)--In line with the aim to ‘empower people and ensure inclusiveness and equality’ across the Arab region, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) held the second regional parliamentary forum seeking to strengthen the capacities and knowledge of parliamentarians so that they can play a more effective role in advancing sustainable development efforts. |

On 25 February 2014, UN Undersecretary General and ESCWA Executive Secretary Rima Khalaf launched from Tunis a remarkable report entitled “Arab Integration: A 21st Century Development Imperative” with the participation of Tunisian President Moncef Marzouki, former Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati and a crowd of political, economic, intellectual and public figures. Media representatives who took part in the ceremony received a press kit, which we will re-publish over five parts, in view of the importance of the issues the Report addresses. |
