The paper developed a quarterly macro-econometric model (GVAR) for the Saudi economy to study the macroeconomic effects of global shocks, and low oil prices, on the Saudi Economy.

The JTV will focus on the daily challenges faced by language experts with the Arabic-English combination and explore creative solutions. It will also consider the United Nations shift towards multitasking among language professionals, as reflected in the new combined Language Competitive Examination. Verbatim officers, copy editors, translators and editors are now expected to possess varied skills to facilitate and encourage smooth movement between the disciplines, so as to communicate the Organization’s mandate to various audiences more effectively and efficiently.

Measuring the multifaceted information society is a very complex task. In the past, measurement approaches were confined to simply aggregating a variety of data on selected information and communications technology (ICT) indicators, adjusting the weight of some factors, and applying statistical tools. Those approaches, however, lacked theory and validation. While measuring the ever-changing ICT landscape might seem to be enough, this study emphasizes that societies are not exclusively driven by technology.
