The United Nations five Regional Commissions (ECA, ECE, ECLAC, ESCAP and ESCWA) conducted, in 2019, the third Global Survey on Digital and Sustainable Trade Facilitation (formerly the Global Survey on Trade Facilitation and Paperless Trade Implementation) to collect relevant data and information from their respective Member States on the implementation of the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement and other related measures. 
 
 

With support from the United Nations Assistance Mission to Iraq (UNAMI) and technical assistance from the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), the Iraq Foundation is conducting a project to strengthen women’s participation in political life at the national and subnational levels, and to strengthen the capacity of women seeking public office.

The workshop is a training of trainers for senior Yemeni civil servants working in human resources management and planning. The workshop will provide training on the application of the institutional gaps assessment methodology within Yemeni ministries and departments that will be supporting the recovery and reconstruction process. The workshop will also train participants on the transfer of the acquired techniques and gaps assessment methodology on to their national counterparts, where needed. 

Furthermore, the workshop will analyze the institutional gaps assessment report on the Capacity Development Program, which will be presented to the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation. The report is a stepping stone for the formulation of an institutional gaps assessment strategy. 

In collaboration with the Ministry of Investment in the Republic of Tunisia ESCWA held a National Workshop on negotiations of bilateral investment agreements during the period 1-5 April 2013.
