11 December 2014	Delegation to Visit the South Thursday	UNESCWA Executive Secretary Mervat Tallawy and a number of UN agency representatives will be visiting the South of Lebanon on Thursday 12 October 2006. The delegation will also include representatives from donor organizations such as the Union of Arab Banks as well as a number of UNESCWA senior staff and experts. During her visit, Tallawy is expected to reveal the nature of the assistance that UNESCWA will be providing to the South in the next stage.

29 May 2017	Executive Secretary Discusses with Former Prime Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina Combating Violent Extremism	“Violent extremism walks in when shared society withdraws,” today said former Prime Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina and member of “Club de Madrid” Zlatko Lagumdzija, who paid a visit to the UN House in Beirut, and met with Under-Secretary-General and ESCWA Executive Secretary Mohamed Ali Alhakim. The meeting was attended by ESCWA Deputy Executive Khawla Mattar and Director of ESCWA Emerging and Conflict-related Issues Division Tarek Alami as well as “Club de Madrid” Senior Program Officer Maram Anbar.
