Dialogue with Inter-State Consultation Mechanisms on the GCM Regional Review in the Arab Region |
In line with the Global Compact on Migration guiding principles that call for a whole-of-government and whole-of society approach in the GCM, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) organized an online dialogue with Inter-State Consultation Mechanisms (ISCMs) on the GCM Regional Review in the Arab Region on 28 January 2021, in cooperation with the members of the Regional UN Network on Migration in the Arab Region. |

Air Pollution from Land Transportation in Lebanon |
Under the patronage of Lebanese Minister of Environment Mohamad Al Machnouk, ESCWA, IPT Energy Centre (IPTEC), the Lebanese Ministry of Environment (MoE) and the UN Development Program (UNDP) today held a conference on “Air Pollution from Land Transportation in Lebanon: Reality and Solutions”, at the UN House, Riad El Solh, Beirut. Developing the Gender Mainstreaming in Public Institutions Project |
During the ESCWA 29th Session hosted by Qatar on 13-15 December 2016, ESCWA Centre for Women (ECW) delivered a presentation on the Gender Mainstreaming in Public Institutions project which aims to design the first unified Arab framework to measure progress towards achieving gender equality and women empowerment in public institutions, based on the success of ESCWA in implementing the United Nations System-wide Action Plan on Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN-SWAP). |
