2 May 2017	Technical Cooperation between ESCWA and Sudan	Acting Executive Secretary of ESCWA Khawla Mattar signed on 23 April 2017 on behalf of ESCWA a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sudanese Minister of Trade Salah Mohamed Al-Hassan on behalf of the Ministry in order to provide a framework for inter-institutional dialogue and cooperation on matters of common interest in the fields of sustainable development until the end of 2019. The ceremony was attended by Sudanese Minister of Communication and Information Technology Tahani Abdallah Attia.
29 March 2021	Webinar on Lebanon’s policy regulatory reforms and financial and legal frameworks needed to promote small-scale renewable energy technologies and applications in rural areas	Within the framework of the “Regional Initiative for Promoting Small-Scale Renewable Energy Applications in Rural Areas of the Arab Region (REGEND)” Project, the UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) is organizing a Webinar on “Case study on Lebanon’s policy regulatory reforms and financial and legal frameworks needed to promote small-scale renewable energy technologies and applications in rural areas”. The webinar will present and discuss Lebanon’s case study and provide guidelines to conceptualize REGEND’s policy toolkit as regional strategic guidelines to improve the enabling environment for the private sector and women entrepreneurs to invest in income-generating activities by increasing the use of small-scale RE technologies and applications in productive activities in the rural areas.

11 December 2014	UN-ESCWA High-Level Meeting to Promote Water Supply and Sanitation Policies	In cooperation with the German Technical Cooperation (GTZ) and in partnership with the League of Arab States (LAS), UN-ESCWA is holding a high level meeting to “Promote Water Supply and Sanitation Policies and Related Organizational Reforms in Western Asia”, on 15 June 2008 at the LAS Headquarters, Cairo, Egypt. The meeting will coincide with the second day sessions of the LAS Ministerial Meeting of Arab Ministers responsible for water resources.

2 January 2018	Lebanese atomic energy body supporting Global Goals, says Executive Secretary	During a visit to the Lebanese Atomic Energy Commission (LAEC), the Executive Secretary of ESCWA stressed the importance of their work to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, especially those related to the environment. “We can benefit from the expertise of LAEC in the implementation of common mechanisms and programs related to the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, and on the issues of climate change and the impact on nature and people,” said ESCWA Executive Secretary Mohamed Ali Alhakim, speaking during a visit on 27 December.
