5 June 2019	The Future of Arab Economic Integration in a Changing Global Trade Landscape	This workshop intend to provide capacity building support to Member countries and Regional Organizations on the Arab trade integration performance with the objective to accelerate the full implementation of PAFTA and facilitate the negotiations on the ACU taking into account Arab trade integration projects with the rest of the world and the changing global trade policies.
7 September 2018	Technical Committee of the ESCWA Technology Centre, 6th Meeting	This meeting will be held in accordance with the ETC Statute to give guidance to the Centre on its work program for 2019 based on the outcome of the 30^th ministerial session and key regional technological priorities that relate to its work, as well as to identify countries’ priorities and challenges in harnessing national capabilities in science, technology, and innovation in the implementation of the sustainable development goals. The specific objectives of the meeting are: Discuss the translation of the outcome of ESCWA ministerial session (including Beirut Consensus and the outcome of the high level three round tables) into priority areas that could be included in ETC work program for 2019. Deliberate on technology priorities and needs of member countries that fall within ETC strategic objectives and areas of intervention.

16 March 2020	Training Course for Capacity Building in Price Statistics and the integration of ICP with CPI	The price statistics team at ESCWA has been working towards enhancing member states’ capacities through the development of various innovative initiatives. In its latest initiative, ESCWA’s Statistics Division developed a training course for capacity building on price statistics, focusing on the ICP, purchasing power parities (PPPs) and their various uses especially in SDG monitoring in addition to the integration between ICP and CPI. The training targeted 13 national price statisticians with no prior knowledge or experience in the ICP and focused on:
4 October 2019	Regional Workshop on Data Disaggregation for SDGs Indicators	This workshop builds on work on data disaggregation being undertaken by the Inter-agency and expert group on SDG indicators which focuses on ensuring the Global Indicator Framework adequately incorporates data disaggregation.
11 December 2014	ESCWA Transport Committee Calls for Prioritizing Road Safety	ESCWA wrapped-up the twelfth session of its Transport Committee with recommendations that highlighted road safety, an issue member countries were called to consider a priority, implementing by such the eponym UN Decade of Action launched last week. The committee had convened at the UN House in Beirut, on 17-19 May. A slew of officials gathered for the event, including representatives from ESCWA’s 14 member countries, and regional as well as international organizations.

8 October 2019	ESCWA continues to train Syrian refugees and Lebanese women in Akkar	Beirut, 11 September 2019 (ESCWA)-- ESCWA and its partners concluded a 3-day training on 6 September aimed at empowering women refugees from Syria and vulnerable women in Akkar, Lebanon, to play an active role in improving their lives and advocating for their rights.
11 December 2014	Secretary-General Appoints Rima Khalaf of Jordan as Executive Secretary of ESCWA	United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has announced the appointment of Rima Khalaf, a national of Jordan, as Under-Secretary-General and Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA). She succeeds Bader Al-Dafa, to whom the Secretary-General said he is grateful for his dedication and commitment to the Organization and his leadership of ESCWA at a critical juncture of its work in the region.
5 April 2017	8th Regional Workshop on Capacity Development for Climate Change Negotiations for the Arab Countries	The workshop will also cover issues related to progress in negotiations and issues related to modalities of implementation and monitoring of the Paris agreement, CMA, and the APA mandate.
