The Future of Arab Economic Integration in a Changing Global Trade Landscape |
This workshop intend to provide capacity building support to Member countries and Regional Organizations on the Arab trade integration performance with the objective to accelerate the full implementation of PAFTA and facilitate the negotiations on the ACU taking into account Arab trade integration projects with the rest of the world and the changing global trade policies. |

Training Course for Capacity Building in Price Statistics and the integration of ICP with CPI |
The price statistics team at ESCWA has been working towards enhancing member states’ capacities through the development of various innovative initiatives. In its latest initiative, ESCWA’s Statistics Division developed a training course for capacity building on price statistics, focusing on the ICP, purchasing power parities (PPPs) and their various uses especially in SDG monitoring in addition to the integration between ICP and CPI. |

ESCWA Transport Committee Calls for Prioritizing Road Safety |
ESCWA wrapped-up the twelfth session of its Transport Committee with recommendations that highlighted road safety, an issue member countries were called to consider a priority, implementing by such the eponym UN Decade of Action launched last week. The committee had convened at the UN House in Beirut, on 17-19 May. A slew of officials gathered for the event, including representatives from ESCWA’s 14 member countries, and regional as well as international organizations. |
