14 September 2016	The Water, Energy and Food Security Nexus in the Arab Region	This booklet briefly presents an analytical framework for understanding the water-energy-food security nexus in the Arab region. The analytical framework considers the linkages that affect the achievement of water, energy and food security through the lens of sustainable development and the achievement of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, with a view to mitigating climate change and ensuring access to food, water and sustainable energy for all in the context of a human-rights approach.

11 December 2014	Launching of E-Caravan Project for South Lebanon	UNESCWA Executive Secretary Mervat Tallawy considered the mobile computer school project a join effort between the United Nations agencies in Lebanon, foreign and Arab embassies, civil society organizations, and the banking and private sectors. Tallawy was speaking at a press conference held today to launch the E-Caravan project for South Lebanon implemented by UNESCWA in cooperation with “Fondation Saradar”. The launching took place under the auspices of Lebanese Minister of Communication Marwan Hamadeh represented by the ministry’s Director-General Naji Andraos.

26 January 2017	Future of Syria among Regional Commission’s Priorities ESCWA to Release 2nd Phase of Relevant Programme Tomorrow	The second phase of the “National Agenda for the Future of Syria (NAFS)” programme at ESCWA will be released in a plenary meeting tomorrow Friday 27 January 2017 at the United Nations House in Beirut. The meeting, which opens at 10:00 AM, will present the recommendations and final document of the Agenda’s Phase I as the “Strategic Policy Alternatives Framework-Post Conflict Syria,” and the vision of its Phase II.

11 December 2014	ESCWA Executive Secretary Meets with Moroccan Minister Delegate for Public Affairs and Governance	Within the framework of her visit to the Kingdom of Morocco to participate in the Second High-Level Meeting on Transition to Democracy organized by ESCWA in the City of Rabat on 5-6 February 2013, United Nations Under-Secretary-General and ESCWA Executive Secretary Rima Khalaf met yesterday, Monday, Moroccan Minister Delegate for Public Affairs and Governance Mohammad Boulif. The visit intended to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation between Morocco and ESCWA.

Opening statements were delivered by Lebanese Minister of Finance Raya Hassan, ESCWA Executive Secretary Bader AlDafa, and World Bank Director for the Middle East Department, Hedi Larbi.
