This technical meeting seeks to bring together a small group of professionals to discuss conceptual and technical issues associated with the assessment of vital registration processes and data for Syrian refugees in Jordan and Lebanon. The purpose of this meeting is to identify conceptual/definitional issues and measurement challenges associated with vital registration assessment of the Syrian refugee population in Jordan and Lebanon, and to develop a modest plan for initial pilot testing of different large-scale data collection approaches.

Beirut-Cairo, 12 November 2018(Communication and Information Unit)--As a continuation of their work to address violence against women in Egypt, the National Council for Women (NCW) organized a consultation on 6 November in Cairo to discuss practical steps towards carrying out a national study on violence against women with disabilities. The study will seek to better understand the experiences and types of violence that women with disabilities in Egypt are suffering.
