1 April 2015	Arab High Level Conference on Beijing+20 Kicks Off	The Arab High Level Conference on Beijing+20, entitled “Towards Justice and Equality for Women in the Arab Region”, opened this morning in the Egyptian capital Cairo, and will continue until tomorrow Tuesday 3 February, in Sofitel Hotel, El-Gezirah. Speeches delivered during the opening session were by the League of Arab States Secretary-General Nabil Al Arabi, United Nations Under-Secretary-General and ESCWA Executive Secretary Rima Khalaf, and Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Executive Director of UN Women, Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka.

11 December 2014	ESCWA 26th Ministerial Session to Convene Under Lebanese House Speaker’s Auspices	Under the auspices of Lebanon’s House Speaker Nabih Berri and in his personal presence, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) is holding its 26th Ministerial Session at the UN House, Beirut, from 17 to 20 May 2010. 6 September 2019	Regional Workshop on the Use of Census Data for Development Planning and Scientific Research in Arab Countries	The regional workshop aims to review the different ways of census data dissemination and usage in development planning; to highlight the importance of communication of census data between producers and users and the role of population and housing censuses in providing indicators of the 2030 sustainable development agenda; and to discuss how to use individual census data in the process of research and planning. 26 February 2015	Cairo Hosts Arab High Level Conference on Beijing+20: Towards Justice and Equality for Women in the Arab Region	“Towards Justice and Equality for Women in the Arab Region” is the title of the Arab High Level Conference on Beijing+20, which will be held in Cairo on 2 and 3 February 2015 in Sofitel Hotel, El-Gezirah. The Conference is organized jointly by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), the League of Arab States (LAS), and the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women). Other organizations are contributing to the funding of the event such as the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
11 December 2014	Jordanian Capital Hosts Eighth Session of Technical Committee on Liberalization of Foreign Trade, Economic Globalization and Financing for Development in the Countries of ESCWA Region	The Jordanian capital, Amman, hosted the Eighth Session of the Technical Committee on Liberalization of Foreign Trade, Economic, Globalization and Financing for Development in the Countries of the ESCWA Region from 7 to 8 October 2013. Attending the Session meetings were representatives of ministries of finance, ministries of economy, and central banks of member countries. Also present were representatives of relevant regional and international organizations.
