Report on the Electronic Fora as part of the Portal “Towards an Inclusive Participatory Development in the ESCWA region” |
The ESCWA launched a portal called “Towards an inclusive Participatory Development in the ESCWA region”, to promote the participation of civil society and the exchange of ideas and experiences and to trigger interactive discussions. Three electronic fora were part of this portal as they aimed at promoting a dynamic civil society and tackled the following issues: “Participation in Public Policy processes”, “Media and Development” and “Social Integration: towards achieving inclusive participation in Western Asia”. |

This forum allowed many activists and experts from different Arab countries to present their views and experiences in the field of participation. It also focused on identifying opportunities for achieving real and sustainable change in the Arab region. The aim of the forum is to engage stakeholders in finding solutions to the various challenges that the Arab States are facing, and in defining the role that civil society organizations and social activists should play in addressing these challenges and developing a vision for the future of the region. |
