2 November 2016	Linking Scientific Research Institutes with Industry	Upon the invitation of the Arab Industrial Development and Mining Organization (AIDMO) and co-organization of ESCWA and the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), a workshop was held on “Linking Research Institutes with Industry in Arab States” on 5 October 2016 in Amman.
5 June 2017	Linking Academia with Industry in Arab Countries	The working team for linking academia with industry in the Arab region conducted its first meeting on 24-25 April 2017 in Rabat-Morocco. The meeting was organized by the Arab Industrial Development and Mining Organization (AIDMO). In his opening speech, AIDMO General Director Adel Saqer stressed the critical roles of research and development (R&D) in existing and emerging industrialization in Arab countries.

11 December 2014	Combating Violence against Women	It is imperative to double the efforts to combat violence against women in the Arab region, said UN-ESCWA Executive Secretary Bader Omar AlDafa at a conference in Doha on 19-20 November.
12 August 2015	Third UN Global Road Safety Week	Under the auspices of Lebanese Minister of Interior and Municipalities Nohad El Mashnouk, and on the occasion of the Third UN Global Road Safety Week, ESCWA convened a workshop in Beirut, which gathered political, cultural and artistic personalities. The workshop was launched with a choir of Abi Bakr Al Siddiq School students who performed traditional songs promoting road safety. Following the opening, attending personalities signed the "Child Declaration on Road Safety".
