Beirut, 06 September 2019 (ESCWA)--Today, ESCWA launched its Guidelines to Estimate the Economic Cost of Domestic Violence in the Arab region, closing a 2-day regional workshop on the same theme, organized in partnership with UNFPA regional office and Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD).
 

ESCWA Convenes 21st Meeting of Regional Coordination Mechanism for Arab States

In its capacity as secretariat to the United Nations Regional Coordination Mechanism (RCM) for Arab States, ESCWA convened the 21st meeting of the RCM on 25 and 26 November 2015 at the Headquarters of the League of Arab States (LAS) in Cairo. Representatives from more than 20 regional United Nations agencies, the League of Arab States and other regional organizations attended this yearly meeting.

United Nations Under-Secretary-General and Executive Secretary of UN-ESCWA (the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia), Mr. Bader Omar Aldafa, heads to the Qatari capital, Doha, today, to partake in the Annual Arab Banking Conference for 2007, organized by the Union of Arab Banks (UAB), in cooperation with the Qatar Central Bank and the World Union of Arab Bankers, between 7 and 8 November 2007 in Sheraton Hotel, Doha, and held under the auspices of Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Jabr Al-Thani, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar.
