8 August 2016	Prioritizing Women, Peace and Security on the Arab Agenda Conference Kicks Off	“Towards Prioritizing Women, Peace, and Security on the Arab Agenda” is the title of the international conference, which kicked off today at the Lebanese American University (LAU). The conference is organized by the Institute for Women’s Studies in the Arab World (IWSAW) at LAU, in collaboration with The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) and The Danish Centre for Research on Women and Gender (KVINFO).

Media representatives who took part in the ceremony received a press kit, which we will re-publish over five parts, in view of the importance of the issues the Report addresses.

25 June 2020	ESCWA and FAO discuss regional production and consumption for sustainable land management	Regional talks commemorating Desertification and Drought Day 24 June 2020 – The Arab region needs to innovatively sustain its land and protect it from degradation and loss in order to ensure a sustainable future. This was the main message of the joint FAO-ESCWA celebration of Desertification and Drought Day under the theme “Food. Feed and Fibre” held virtually on Monday across the Arab region.

26 February 2015	Cairo Hosts Arab High Level Conference on Beijing+20: Towards Justice and Equality for Women in the Arab Region	“Towards Justice and Equality for Women in the Arab Region” is the title of the Arab High Level Conference on Beijing+20, which will be held in Cairo on 2 and 3 February 2015 in Sofitel Hotel, El-Gezirah. The Conference is organized jointly by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), the League of Arab States (LAS), and the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women). Other organizations are contributing to the funding of the event such as the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
11 December 2014	Jordanian Capital Hosts Eighth Session of Technical Committee on Liberalization of Foreign Trade, Economic Globalization and Financing for Development in the Countries of ESCWA Region	The Jordanian capital, Amman, hosted the Eighth Session of the Technical Committee on Liberalization of Foreign Trade, Economic, Globalization and Financing for Development in the Countries of the ESCWA Region from 7 to 8 October 2013. Attending the Session meetings were representatives of ministries of finance, ministries of economy, and central banks of member countries. Also present were representatives of relevant regional and international organizations.

Held at Kempinski Hotel, the Session is to close deliberations tomorrow Tuesday 8 October 2013.
