8 January 2016	Promoting Science-Policy Interface in the Arab Region	During the 3rd Session of the Arab Forum for Scientific Research and Sustainable Development, convened in Beirut from the 10th to 12th of December 2015, ESCWA Sustainable Development Policies Division organized a panel discussion on “The Science-policy Interface in the Arab Region,” which highlighted the importance of this evolving concept in light of the interlinked challenges facing the region and the world.

11 December 2014	UN-ESCWA Committee on Water Resources Convenes Eighth Session	In the presence of representatives of member countries, international, regional and civil organizations, as well as experts concerned with water resources, UN-ESCWA opened today the eighth session of its Committee on Water Resources, which convenes until Friday 19 December 2008. AlDafa Addressing the meeting, Executive Secretary Bader Omar AlDafa said in his opening statement “the issue of water resources stands among crucial ones in the region. It is one of the priorities of UN-ESCWA work.
11 December 2014	ESCWA Sponsors Specialized TV Program to Empower Women	“The more we succeed in empowering Arab women, the greater is our progress towards sustainable human development” With these words, ESCWA Executive Secretary Bader AlDafa summed up the vision that guides the Commission in its women-centered programs and activities, which have recently grown to include a TV program, entitled “Women in Economy”. The program is broadcasted on the Arab Woman Channel, and presented by Ghada Ballout Zeytoun.
11 December 2014	Yemen National Dialogue: The Work Begins	A leading group of Yemeni prominent personalities will meet at the United Nations House in Beirut tomorrow, Wednesday, at 9:00 am to discuss with experts the outcomes of the Yemen National Dialogue, which was launched in 2011, and the means of their implementation. The meeting will close on Thursday 12 June 2014.
