11 December 2014	UN Launches UNCTAD's Information Economy Report in Beirut	ESCWA held a press conference today in cooperation with the UN Information Center in Beirut (UNIC-Beirut), at the UN House to launch the "Information Economy Report 2009" released by the UN Conference on trade and Development (UNCTAD). Speakers at the conference were Bahaa Elkoussy, UNIC-Beirut Director, Youssef Nusseir, Director Information and Communication Technology Division at ESCWA and Rami Zaatari, Information and Communication Technology Officer, ESCWA.

11 August 2015	Asia-Pacific Remains Largest Export Destination for Arab Region	ESCWA Director of Economic Development and Integration Division (EDID), Moctar Mohamed El Hacene, today said, “The Asia-Pacific region remains the largest export destination for the Arab region, particularly Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, Mauritania, and Yemen; and the deepening of inter-regional economic linkage has been remarked in the area of foreign direct investment and Islamic finance.”

11 December 2014	ESCWA Chief Economist Launches World Economic Situation and Prospects 2013, Reiterates Commission's Call to Achieve Regional Integration	Abdallah AlDardari, Director, ESCWA Economic Development and Globalization Division and Chief Economist, today said Economic situation of the Arab region can be characterized by its polarizing economic performance between major energy exporters and other Arab countries. Major energy exporters, mainly of GCC countries, have registered a stable growth with constantly growing domestic demand through active fiscal policy. On the other hand, political instability and social unrest clouded economic situation of other Arab countries, namely Mashreq, Maghreb and Arab Least Developed Countries.
11 December 2014	Ministerial Session Discusses Economic Policies in Support of Social Justice	The second panel of the 28th ministerial session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) convened this afternoon to discuss the topic “Economic policies in support of social justice”, examining the connections between economics and social justice, and the impact of various economic and fiscal policies on social and economic development from an equity and justice perspective.
30 November 2016	First Model ESCWA Partners with Youth in Spreading Agenda 2030	Thirty five students from the American University of Beirut (AUB) representing different background and nationalities gathered in the Conference Hall of the United Nations House on Saturday 19 November 2016, and simulated the central decision making process of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), its Ministerial Session, focusing specifically on the theme of the upcoming 29th Session to be held in Doha, Qatar, on 13-15 December, under the title “Implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in the Arab Region”.
2 September 2019	ESCWA bolsters cooperation with key European partners	Beirut, 30 August 2019 (ESCWA)--The Executive Secretary of ESCWA, Ms. Rola Dashti, heading a delegation from the regional commission, wrapped up a tour in Bern, Berlin and Oslo today, where she met with European partners with a longstanding history of support to the Arab region. The Executive Secretary met with NAFS Programme donor focal points in Germany and Norway for the first time since her appointment and updated them on the work of the Programme.
