17 November 2016	ESCWA Highlights Regional Implementation of 2030 Agenda on Climate Action	On 15 November 2016, ESCWA took part in a joint United Nations regional commissions roundtable held on the sidelines of the twenty-second session of the annual Conference of the Parties (COP 22), the supreme decision-making body of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change taking place in Marrakech, Morocco between 7 and 18 November 2016.
18 November 2016	ESCWA and UNEP Sign MoU to Sustain Cooperation	On 17 November 2016, ESCWA and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the sidelines of the twenty-second session of the annual Conference of the Parties (COP 22), the supreme decision-making body of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change taking place in Marrakech, Morocco between 7 and 18 November 2016.
23 November 2016	Survey of Economic and Social Developments in the Arab Region 2015-2016	On 10 November 2016, ESCWA launched its Survey of Economic and Social Developments in the Arab Region 2015-2016, which highlights the colossal direct and indirect economic and social impact of the five-year old conflicts and political transitions in the region. Director of ESCWA Economic Development and Integration Division Mohamed el Moctar Mohamed el Hacene presented the Survey. He said, “The economic and political uncertainty in the region continues to restrain the general prospects for growth, job creation and stability.”
25 November 2016	2016 Palestine Day Features Statements, Discussions and Remarkable Cultural Functions	ESCWA is observing the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People on Tuesday 29 November 2016 at the UN House, Beirut.
28 November 2016	First Meeting of the Technical Advisory Group on Economic Statistics (TAGES) in the Arab Region	ESCWA convened the first Technical Advisory Group on Economic Statistics (TAGES) for the Arab Region on 9 and 10 November 2016, in Cairo. The meeting was attended by 21 participants representing 10 countries and 8 regional and international organizations. Palestine was elected as chair of the group and Morocco as co-chair, while ESCWA acted as secretariat. The ESCWA Statistical Committee recommended the establishment of this technical advisory group during its eleventh session in 2015.
28 November 2016	Research Impact Assessment	Under the auspices of HRH Princess Sumaya Bint El Hassan, President of ESCWA Technology Centre (ETC) Board of Governors, the Centre held on 13 November 2016, in Amman, an executive workshop for scientific research leaders in Arab countries, in cooperation with the Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF) and The International School on Research Impact Assessment.
29 November 2016	First Model ESCWA Partners with Youth in Spreading Agenda 2030	Thirty five students from the American University of Beirut (AUB) representing different background and nationalities gathered in the Conference Hall of the United Nations House on Saturday 19 November 2016, and simulated the central decision making process of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), its Ministerial Session, focusing specifically on the theme of the upcoming 29th Session to be held in Doha, Qatar, on 13-15 December, under the title “Implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in the Arab Region”.
29 November 2016	ESCWA Marks the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People	“Wherever they may be, Palestinians have suffered from the discriminatory policies pursued by successive Israeli Governments. Attempts by one ethnic or religious group to dominate another are inherently no different from the apartheid regime that the world thought had been eradicated in South Africa in the 1990s.” United Nations Undersecretary-General and ESCWA Executive Secretary Rima Khalaf today said.

2 December 2016	16th Meeting of Industrial Research Centres’ Coordination Committee in Arab States	ESCWA Technology Centre (ETC) hosted the sixteenth meeting of the “Industrial Research Centres’ Coordination Committee in Arab States” simultaneously with ESCWA Technical Committee’s meeting, in cooperation with the Arab Industrial Development and Mining Organisation (AIDMO). The meeting aimed to overcome the hurdles facing technology transfer and development, and to raise awareness on the significance of industrial research in order to achieve an advanced Arab industry.
