Beirut, 17 December 2015 (Communication and Information Unit)-- “What is Left of the Arab Spring?” is the question ESCWA has tried to answer through its first issue of the Social Development Report series entitled “What is Left of the Spring: The Long Road to Social Justice in the Arab Region”, which will be launched at 10:00 a.m. on 21 December 2015, at the UN House, Beirut.

On 10-12 December 2015, ESCWA partnered with the Arab League Education, Culture and Science Organization (ALECSO) in organizing the 3rd Session of the Arab Forum for Scientific Research and Sustainable Development (AFSRSD), which was held in Beirut under the auspicious of Lebanese Minister of Administrative Reform Nabil de Freije.

During the 3rd Session of the Arab Forum for Scientific Research and Sustainable Development, convened in Beirut from the 10th to 12th of December 2015, ESCWA Sustainable Development Policies Division organized a panel discussion on “The Science-policy Interface in the Arab Region,” which highlighted the importance of this evolving concept in light of the interlinked challenges facing the region and the world.

Beirut, 13 January 2016 (ESCWA Communication and Information Unit)--The 2015 Situation Report on International Migration entitled “Migration, Displacement and Development in a Changing Arab Region” will be jointly launched by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) tomorrow, Thursday the 14th of January 2016, at 10:00 am, at the UN House, Beirut.
