The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia is seeking talented applicants for the post of Public Information Assistant. 

League of Arab States Secretary-General Amr Moussa held talks on Wednesday 21 November 2007 with UN-ESCWA Executive Secretary, Bader Omar Al-Dafa, at the UN House in Beirut. Following the meeting, Moussa told reporters that he came to Lebanon on a quick visit "amid circumstances known to all, and in view of the efforts that you have been following up on". Moussa was referring to talks with Lebanese officials on the presidential impasse. "I seized the opportunity to visit my friend Mr. Bader Omar Al-Dafa to congratulate him on his post as Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations".

Renowned Lebanese singer Majida El-Roumy will pay a visit to ESCWA Headquarters, Riad el Solh Square, on Thursday 6 December 2012. Roumi begins her visit at 11:00 AM with an audience with UN Under-Secretary-General and ESCWA Executive Secretary Rima Khalaf. A tour of the Commission’s premises follows, with a stop in the library, where Ms. El-Roumy will be briefed on work mechanisms and subjects of interest. The tour wraps up with a detailed presentation on ESCWA’s work and programs, with special emphasis on the Commission’s role in youth poverty alleviation in Lebanon and the region.

Under the auspices of Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri , ESCWA, the Lebanese National Council for Scientific Research (CNRS) and the Office of the Minister of State for Administrative Reform (OMSAR) organize a workshop on "National Technology Transfer Networks" tomorrow Thursday 23 February 2017, ath the Grand Serail. 
The workshop opens at 10:00 AM with speeches for the organizers. High-level officials from Lebanon and experts from the arab region are expected to attend and run the different roundtables of the workshop throughout the day.
