Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri, Deputy Secretary-general of the United Nations Asha-Rose Migiro and ESCWA Executive Secretary Rima Khalaf today opened at the UN House in Beirut the 14th Regional Coordination Mechanism (RCM) meeting for UN agencies operating in Arab countries.

Under the auspices of Lebanon’s House Speaker Nabih Berri and in his personal presence, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) is holding its 26th Ministerial Session at the UN House, Beirut, from 17 to 20 May 2010. The Ministerial Session is the main governing body of the Regional Commission and it takes the major decisions on its policies

         Under the auspices of Her Highness Doctor Muna Al-Fahd Al Said, the Sultanate of Oman is hosting the 7th session of the Committee on Women at ESCWA (the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia) from 20 to 21 January 2016 at the Muscat Intercontinental Hotel.

Under the umbrella of ESCWA and the League of Arab States (LAS), the first meeting of the Multistakeholder Advisory Group (MAG) of the Arab Internet Governance Forum (Arab IGF) was held on 18-19 June 2012 in Cairo, Egypt. The meeting was convened by the Arab IGF secretariat, represented by the National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (NTRA) of Egypt, in collaboration with the Arab Administrative Development Organization (ARADO), and was sponsored by the Kuwait Information Technology Society (KITS) and CISCO Systems.
