29 March 2021	Webinar on Lebanon’s policy regulatory reforms and financial and legal frameworks needed to promote small-scale renewable energy technologies and applications in rural areas	Within the framework of the “Regional Initiative for Promoting Small-Scale Renewable Energy Applications in Rural Areas of the Arab Region (REGEND)” Project, the UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) is organizing a Webinar on “Case study on Lebanon’s policy regulatory reforms and financial and legal frameworks needed to promote small-scale renewable energy technologies and applications in rural areas”. The webinar will present and discuss Lebanon’s case study and provide guidelines to conceptualize REGEND’s policy toolkit as regional strategic guidelines to improve the enabling environment for the private sector and women entrepreneurs to invest in income-generating activities by increasing the use of small-scale RE technologies and applications in productive activities in the rural areas.
28 June 2019	Green Technology Transfer, Adaptation and Investment Required for Implementing SDG 12: Sustainable Consumption and Production	For enhancing the capabilities of Arab countries in Green Technology, ETC will hold the expert group meeting on “Green Technology Transfer, Adaptation and Investment Required for Implementing SDG 12: Sustainable Consumption and Production” in Amman on 29-30 July 2019. The meeting will also discuss green investments needed in the region to support the green transformation in the agriculture sector and conflict solid waste management. This meeting comes in the light of the role of ETC in enhancing the capabilities of innovation and technology in Arab countries, acquiring the necessary tools and capacities to accelerate economic and social development, and in finding suitable ways to help member countries on the best means of development and success
20 February 2020	Sub-regional Workshop: Developing Budgeted Monitoring & Evaluation Frameworks for National Action Plans on Women, Peace, and Security	More and more Arab countries have expressed commitment in engaging with the UN Security Council Resolution 1325 (2000) on Women, Peace and Security (WPS) at the national level. As of February 2020, six countries (including, Iraq, Palestine, Jordan, Tunisia, Lebanon, and Yemen) have developed their National Action Plans (NAPs), and more countries have announced interest in having their own NAP processes, including Egypt, Morocco, and the Sudan.
5 December 2014	Regional Roadmap for Internet Governance	The ICT Division of ESCWA and the League of Arab States have jointly organized the expert groups meeting on "Regional Roadmap for Internet Governance" in Beirut, during 25-26 October 2010. The meeting aimed at promoting the role of the Arab region in Governance of the Internet and enhancing its capacities in shaping Internet global public policies, and at strengthening results-based cooperation of the various Arab stakeholders for the period 2011-2015.

7 December 2017	The Interregional Transport Linkages between ESCWA, ECE and ESCAP Under the United Nations Development Account Project on Capacity Building Through Cooperation in Developing and Land-Sea Interregional Transport Linkages (2002-2006)	This Expert Group Meeting was aimed at discussing the proposed transport linkages between the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) and two other regional commissions, namely, the Economic Commission for Europe (ECE) and the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP).
17 September 2020	Resource Efficiency in the Arab Region: Monitoring Progress of SDG 12 and Building Back Better from COVID-19	Within its continuous efforts to advance Sustainable Consumption and Production in the Arab region, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), and the League of Arab States (LAS) are organizing the Expert Group Meeting on “Resource Efficiency in the Arab Region, Monitoring Progress of SDG 12 and Building Back Better after COVID-19”. The meeting will focus on the following three thematic areas: Statistical Frameworks and Methodologies for Measurement of SCP Indicators, Monitoring Progress on SDG 12 in the Arab Region, and Review of National Progress and Building Back Better and Green Recovery in the Context of COVID-19.
12 October 2020	Webinar on Voluntary National Reviews in the Arab Region	The webinar takes stock of the experiences of Arab countries that presented VNRs in 2020 and informs preparations of countries undertaking such processes in 2021.
26 March 2019	World Water Day 2019	ESCWA organized a celebration to commemorate the World Water Day: Leave no one Behind, on Friday 22 March 2019 as part of the regional consultation meeting on climate change for 2019 AFSD and HLPF that was convened at the UN-House Beirut from 21 to 22 March 2019.
