24 August 2020	Improving the performance of the Agricultural Development Group for Rural Women "Al-Amal" and raising its efficiency	Within the framework of the “Regional Initiative for Promoting Small-Scale Renewable Energy Applications in Rural Areas of the Arab Region (REGEND)” Project, the UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), in partnership with the General Commission for Regional Development (CGDR) and the National Agency for Energy Conservation (ANME) in Tunisia, is organizing a capacity-building workshop on “Improving the performance of the Agricultural Development Group for Rural Women "Al-Amal" in Neffatia and raising its efficiency”. This workshop aims to improve the performance of "Al-Amal" Agricultural Development Group (ADG) for Rural Women in Neffatia, Delegation of Chorbane, Governorate of Mahdia, Republic of Tunisia, and raising its efficiency by building the capacities of its current board members and a number of its women members who wish to join the board in the future, on legal, administrative, management and financial issues, through a simplified scientific and distinctive approach integrating lectures, exercises, and practical training.
27 August 2019	Libya Socioeconomic Dialogue Project technical meeting: Peer review of the three Baseline Studies' final drafts: Economic, Social and Governance	The objective of the meeting is to provide a platform for Libyan and international experts to discuss and exchange their ideas, feedback and comments on the three draft Baseline studies. The authors of the three Baseline studies will submit the updated draft of their papers and the five priorities identified in each paper; whereas the international experts will enrich the discussions with international experiences and best practices for participants to discuss and exchange views and guidance to prepare for the final versions of the Baseline Studies and to agree on the selection of the five priorities identified by the authors.

5 December 2014	Workshop on International Economic and Social Classifications	In response to Abu-Dhabi Declaration (3 February 2001), the Arab Ministers put forward a strategy to achieve sustainable development in the region. In this context, Environment and Energy Conference was convened in Abu-Dhabi between 2 & 5 February 2003. Mr. Hosny Khordagui, team leader of Sustainable Management of the Environment Group, presented a paper on the Compliance with Energy Related Environmental Standards in the Arab Region.
5 December 2017	Regional Working Group of the ESCWA Statistical Committee, 3rd Meeting	The third meeting of the Regional Working Group of the ESCWA Statistical Committee was organized by the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) at the United Nations House in Beirut on 1 and 2 February 2010.
14 November 2017	Regional Workshop on: “Renewable Energy UNDA project conclusions and way forward”	The objective of this regional workshop is to conclude the UNDA project on “Promoting Renewable Energy Investments for Climate Change Mitigation and Sustainable Development” by providing closing remarks about the implemented activities, an update on the RE projects portfolios from selected UN ESCWA and UNECE Member countries, and indications about the way forward to continue promoting RE investments in the two regions, using available instruments, and particularly, the “Sustainable Energy Marketplace” platform (http://marketplace.irena.org/) developed by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) as one of the main tools that facilitate Access to renewable energy projects in developing countries and identify potential funding sources. Moreover, support was provided by the UNDA project to enhance this platform that will be presented and discussed during the workshop.
