11 July 2019	UNSD/ESCWA Technical Assistance to Lebanon on Improving Energy Statistics for Sustainable Development	The objective of this assessment mission is to assist the General Directorate of Oil at the Ministry of Energy and Water (MEW) and the Central Administration of Statistics (CAS) in producing a step-by-step plan towards meeting Lebanon’s energy statistics needs. For this purpose, other government stakeholders’ views need to be considered so that the collective national policy needs in this area are incorporated in the plan. Cooperation and coordination among agencies will be essential to improve Lebanon’s energy statistics in a cost-efficient way.
16 December 2016	Civil Registration in Refugee Settings: Advancing Assessment and Improvement in Unsettled Environments	This technical meeting seeks to bring together a small group of professionals to discuss conceptual and technical issues associated with the assessment of vital registration processes and data for Syrian refugees in Jordan and Lebanon. The purpose of this meeting is to identify conceptual/definitional issues and measurement challenges associated with vital registration assessment of the Syrian refugee population in Jordan and Lebanon, and to develop a modest plan for initial pilot testing of different large-scale data collection approaches.

31 August 2020	Marketing techniques and mechanisms of rural women's products	Within the framework of the “Regional Initiative for Promoting Small-Scale Renewable Energy Applications in Rural Areas of the Arab Region (REGEND)” Project, the UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), in partnership with the General Commission for Regional Development (CGDR) and the National Agency for Energy Conservation (ANME) in Tunisia, is organizing a capacity-building workshop on “Marketing techniques and mechanisms of rural women's products”. This workshop aims to build the knowledge, scientific and technical capacities of Rural Women in the region of Chorbane, Governorate of Mahdia, Republic of Tunisia – in particular, those belonging to "Al-Amal" Agricultural Development Group for Rural Women – on techniques and mechanisms for marketing local products and how to benefit from them to develop and sustain Rural Women’s incomes, as well as to create a participatory dynamic to facilitate the marketing of Rural Women's products, and to provide them with the necessary knowledge on marketing laws and practical skills regarding the use of modern techniques and mechanisms for marketing, through a simplified scientific and distinctive approach integrating lectures, exercises, and practical training.
5 December 2014	Workshop on: "Scaling up the use of Renewable Energy in rural areas in ESCWA Member Countries"	In some of the ESCWA Member Countries, a large percentage of the population lives in rural communities (according to the World Urbanization Prospects: The 2007 Revision, http://www.un.org/esa/population/publications/wup2007/2007wup.htm, these rural communities accounted for 68% in Yemen, 57% in Egypt and 55% in Sudan…).
