29 November 2019	Review recurrent and non-recurrent publications on regional integration and trade reforms	The Expert Group Meeting is organized by ESCWA in cooperation with UNCTAD. The participants included high-level economists and experts from Arab universities and think tanks and representatives of Arab regional and sub-regional organizations such as the League of Arab States and the Arab Maghreb Union. The meeting aimed to critically review the drafts of the recurrent publication on the third edition of assessing Arab economic integration and the non-recurrent publication on trade costs in the Arab region. The meeting discussed also the findings of the World Investment Report 2019 prepared by UNCTAD.
21 January 2019	Regional Seminar on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in the International Convention and the Sustainable Development Plan 2030	The League of Arab States and the Ministry of Social Solidarity in the Arab Republic of Egypt, in collaboration with the Statistics Division at the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), held the Arab Regional Seminar on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities as part of the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the Sustainable Development Plan 2030, on 13-14 January 2019 at the headquarters of the Secretariat of the League of Arab States.
20 October 2017	Workshop on Sound Institutional Environment, Cooperation, Dialogue and Partnerships for the Production and Utilization of SDG Indicators	The workshop will address the institutional environment for official statistics in support of monitoring progress towards the SDGs, including governance, leadership, coordination mechanisms and tools as well as dialogue and partnership between producers and users of data and statistics.
21 April 2015	Committee on Transport, 16th session	The Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (UNESCWA) convened the Sixteenth Session of the ESCWA Committee on Transport, in Cairo, Egypt, from 23 to 24 November 2015. The meeting is of special interest to experts in land and maritime transport, transport and trade facilitation and road safety.

5 December 2014	Workshop on "Regional Mapping and Policy Guidelines of Green Productive Sectors in the Arab Region"	ESCWA is leading a Development Account project entitled “Strengthening national capacities in the ESCWA region on developing green production sectors”, and is implementing it jointly with the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and a series of national public and private institutions.
23 April 2019	Focus Group Meeting in Tunisia on the Regional Initiative for Promoting Small-Scale Renewable Energy Applications in rural areas of the Arab Region	Within the framework of the “Regional Initiative for Promoting Small – Scale Renewable Energy Applications in rural areas of the Arab region (REGEND)”, the finalization of the selection of the local community and the Local Facilitating Team in Tunisia necessitates a focus group meeting. The objective of the meeting is to assess and finalize the selection of the local community where the project activities will be undertaken as well establishment of the Local Facilitation Team (LFT) in Tunisia and selection of its members.
15 February 2019	National Consultation Meeting on the Regional Initiative for Promoting Small-Scale Renewable Energy Applications in rural areas of the Arab Region in Tunisia	Within the framework of the “Regional Initiative for Promoting Small – Scale Renewable Energy Applications in rural areas of the Arab region (REGEND)” an assessment of the situation of the rural areas in Tunisia necessitates a focus group meeting. The objective of the meeting is to determine the local communities where the project activities will be undertaken and engage the key stakeholders in rural areas of Tunisia.
