7 November 2018	Improving Shared Water Resources Cooperation within the Framework of Global and Regional Agreements	Most Arab States depend for their water supply on shared water resources as two-thirds of all fresh water resources in the region cross one country border or more. The allocation of these resources among riparian countries has substantial environmental and socio-economic implications at the local, national and regional levels. Therefore, effective cooperation on the management and distribution of the scarce water supplies would contribute to the optimization in water resource allocation and use as well as alleviation of potential conflicts.

1 June 2019	Enhancing capacity building addressing Water and Energy interlinkages for Sustainable Development in the Arab Region	In the framework of addressing the Water - Energy nexus, the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) is organizing in collaboration with UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) and support from the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Sub-Fund, an Expert Group Meeting on “Enhancing capacity building addressing Water and Energy interlinkages for Sustainable Development in the Arab Region”. The objective of this Meeting is to strengthen the capacity of ESCWA member countries and other relevant stakeholders in terms of enhancing their ability to achieve an integrated and sustainable management of water and energy resources through South-South cooperation, thereby contributing to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It intends to facilitate exchange of lessons, insights and experiences to-date among Member States and all stakeholders and to consider challenges and opportunities for furthering progress towards 2030.

5 December 2014	Joint Interregional Seminar on Capacity Building in Economic ‎Assessment of Interregional Linkages and in Facilitation of ‎International Transport between ESCWA, ESCAP,ECE and ‎ECA	An Inter-regional Seminar on the Economic Assessment of International Transport Linkages and on Transport Facilitation will take place at the Grand Tiba Rose Hotel, Air force Defense Club, Heliopolis, Cairo, 26-28 June 2007. This seminar is organized by the United Nations' Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) in cooperation with the United Nations' Economic Commission for Europe (ECE), Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) and Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) under the patronage of H.E. Eng.
29 July 2020	Koronivia Joint Work on Agriculture in the Arab Region	The Workshop discussed the Koronivia Joint Work on Agriculture and provided a platform for sharing on regional perspectives and issues related to agriculture and climate change negotiations and highlighted the need for a joint Arab position for a resilient agriculture sector. KJWA represents the unique opportunity to put forward the agriculture sector in a convention that does not look into specific sectoral issues and could be a game changer for the many Arab farmers. LAS, FAO and ESCWA were ready to assist countries in preparing their submissions and joining the KJWA process.
7 February 2019	Launching of the baseline mapping study of the energy use situation in the buildings sector in Tunisia	The national seminar will focus on the methodologies for developing the baseline mapping study of the energy use situation in the buildings sector in Tunisia. It is an activity scheduled in the framework of the UN Development Account (UNDA) project on “Up–scaling Energy Efficiency in the residential and services sectors in the Arab Region”. This seminar aims at launching a baseline study for the mapping of the energy use situation in the buildings sector in Tunisia and presenting the methodologies to be used by various stakeholders to the success of the project.
