In the context of its support to the Regional Initiative for Establishing a Regional Mechanism for Improved Monitoring and Reporting on Access to Water Supply and Sanitation Services in the Arab Region (MDG+ Initiative), ESCWA developed a training manual on water supply and sanitation indicators.

The Arab IGF is aimed at establishing a mechanism for the implementation of the Arab Regional Roadmap for the Internet Governance, and it provides a platform for dialogue on issues related to the Internet and to the priorities of the Arab region, in accordance with the outcomes of WSIS.

ESCWA Executive Secretary Rima Khalaf today said, “Occupation is Assault on Dignity and Negation of Freedoms.” Khalaf was speaking in a side event organized by the UN regional commissions on the sidelines of the Third International Conference on Financing for Development.
