The International Plant Protection Convention was approved by the FAO Conference (Sixth Session) on 6 December 1951, by Resolution No. 85/51. The Convention came into force, pursuant to Article XIV, on 3 April 1952, upon ratification by three signatory governments. The Convention was registered with the Secretariat of the United Nations on 29 November 1952 under No. 1963.
