The International Energy Foundation (IEF) traces its historical beginning to 1979 when it was conceived to hold a conference to allow the international community the opportunity to present their views and needs with regards to energy production, consumption and conservation. They have set up 15 Regional Headquarters to provide a focal point for international information networks so that people from around the world can access the latest research data.
