The Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (UN-ESCWA) is implementing the activities planned in the project "Strengthening National Capacities in Environment Statistics, Indicators and Accounts in support of progress toward achieving the internationally agreed development goals in the ESCWA and ECLAC Regions".

In cooperation with other UN agencies and being funded from the United Nations Development Account, the project aims to improve national capacities to produce environment statistics, indicator and accounts in order to integrate environmental concerns into economic development.

Study visits or fellowships are convened under the project, in addition to a training workshop on water accounts and other activities.
