Four side events at 30th Ministerial Session of ESCWA

During the ministerial segment of the 30th Ministerial Session taking place on 27 and 28 June, four side events are being organized to highlight the work of ESCWA.
 
Wednesday, 27 June 2018, 4-5 p.m. (two parallel side events):
 
1.         Launching of the tenth report of the Arab Thought Foundation on cultural development - Innovation or Extinction? Scientific Research in the Arab World: Realities, Challenges and Perspectives, MZ Hall
2.         Symposium - Climate Change in the Arab Region: Technological Tools for Enhancing the Science-Policy Interface, CR1 - B1
 
Thursday, 28 June 2018, 9-10 a.m. (two parallel side events):
 
3.         Launching of the ESCWA study: Perspectives on the Digital Economy in the Arab Region, MZ Hall
4.         Launching of the ESCWA study: Fostering Open Government in the Arab Region, CR1 - B1
 
The ESCWA Communication and Information Unit will support reporters to arrange interviews with ministers and senior officials taking part in the ministerial segment of the Session. A media room will also be available for reporters with access to a printer.
 
The Ministerial Session, this year focused on technology for sustainable development in the Arab region, will serve as a platform to discuss critical actions required from governments, the private sector and civil society in Arab countries in response to the exponential frontier or disruptive technologies sweeping the world.
